Pastor A. J. Holman, Sr. is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He’s married to the former Johnnita F. Custard from Cynthiana, Kentucky.

He is a Vietnam Era Marine Corps Veteran. He’s a working actor having been in Survivor’s Remorse on Starz and Being Mary Jane on BET, and has appeared in several Plays and several True Crime episodes produced by Jupiter Entertainment.

He’s an author, photographer, genealogist. He serves in many capacities through fraternal and social organizations such as a Silver Life Member of the NAACP, the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World, Prince Hall Masonry and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, just to name a few. He’s a product of Bishop College, now Paul Quinn College, Dallas, TX and Turner Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. He’s now pursuing a Ph. D. in History at Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA.

Pastor Holman currently serves as the Pastor of Bethel A. M. E. Church after being re-assigned for his fourteenth year. He was appointed the Grand Historian by Grand Exalted Ruler Attorney Leonard J. Polk, Jr.

His two favorite passages of scripture are: Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not” and Hebrew 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
